2014-2016

UG-CN was officially founded on April 21st. At the same period, the first user group project established, in which companies and universities jointly developed an electric vehicle DEMO, connecting multiple AUTOSAR ECUs through the CAN bus.

Through this collaborative effort, participants got a good insight to the AUTOSAR technologies, known how to successfully start an AUTOSAR project and started to migrate their software to AUTOSAR. The guideline named “How to Start with AUTOSAR” has been released as a deliverable.

2019 – 2020

OTA & ICV Subgroup

In 2019, UG-CN started a user group project, which was divided into two subgroups. The left subgroup was the Demonstration System Development Group, where multiple companies collaborated to develop an AUTOSAR OTA demonstration system based on Ethernet networks. On the right was the ICV subgroup, primarily serving as a communication mechanism bridging AUTOSAR and China's ICV intelligent connected vehicle community. The project commenced in 2019 and was completed by July 2020.

The diagram of the demonstration system is as shown, incorporating several controllers. Such a system closely resembles the network architecture that will be utilized in today's and even next-generation vehicles. Classic AUTOSAR software, adaptive platforms, and non-AUTOSAR gateways are interconnected, with OTA backend, demonstrating a highly efficient and rapid OTA service.

Besides, from within ICV subgroup, UG-CN incubated the first AUTOSAR China working group, known as V2X-CN, primarily defining the content of V2X interfaces within the AUTOSAR standard and releasing it in the R22-11 version.
