The AUTOSAR Release R19-11 includes, among others, a DoIP Extension which is implemented in the Classic as well as in the Adaptive Platform. It defines diagnostic communication between ECU/DoIP node and internal tester located within the vehicle network. The internal DoIP interface supports an activation line per internal interface. The combination of internal/external DoIP interfaces will support activation lines and dynamic IP assignments for external testers. No vehicle announcement will be required as the external tester can now get the IP addresses directly from the gateway.
Furthermore, an Update & Configuration Management (UCM) Master, allows frequent secure and safe updates of vehicle software within the Adaptive Platform. Its purpose is to ensure update, installation and removal of an Adaptive Software Cluster within a vehicle by over-the-air or diagnostic tester connections. This provides better exchangeability of specific OEM applications (OTA client, vehicle safety manager, diagnostic applications, driver interaction) between Adaptive platforms.

About the Adaptive Platform
AUTOSAR first released its Adaptive Platform on March 31st, 2017 as a standardized integration platform for electronic control units (ECU). The AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform is based on POSIX operating systems and is the ECU standard for new automotive megatrends. It combines the safety and security of microcontroller-based ECUs with the high performance provided by microprocessor-based multimedia ECUs. By doing so, the new standard avoids the costly alternative for OEMs and their suppliers of repeatedly developing the critical and complicated functionality of such a software platform with proprietary and individual approaches.
